I have been using Internet service from Worldlink Communication which claims to be largest ISP in Nepal but wondering with its poor service. There is 4-6 hours downtime in Internet daily and most often bandwidth problems are created. I know that there may not be users who use internet 24 hours/ 7 day. But i am the one who uses internet 24/7 so i come to know with all issues.

Talking about today, there was load shedding and i was running PC with inverter. Internet was working fine. After few hours when electricity was there internet connection was lost. Local area connection showed red cross bar informing that server is dead. I was reading few ebooks and passing my time. I had meeting with client which was much effected with the connection loss. After 2 hours server was on. I connected via PPPOE and said to my client. Client was typing something and the internet connection was lost LAN being connected. I tried a lot. After 5 minuted it was re-connect and then again disconnected after 1 minute. This continued for 1 hour. I wrote email to Wlink saying WTF to their service. I am really disappointed with the service they are providing.

talking about customer support, they are supporters with zero knowledge. One day i asked them is there dynamic IP available ? Then they replied “yes”. However i have been experiencing same IP every time i connect which causes ban is various sites which allow a account per IP including DIGG. Again i asked them how many IPs you have then they replied we don’t know. As soon as we phone them they ask our user name and also ask that what is the error message while connecting. They should ask what is the problem and try to solve it in a good way rather than pretending as knowing everything.

Well, whatever WTF is Worldlink Nepal, i am forced to use it. I am searching for alternative though and hoping that the service of WLINK NEPAL will be improved.

what you sow is what you get.

you should not choose any ISP just because they are cheap and offer high bandwidth.

you should check its reliability.

I suggest you try any dedicated link from good ISP around.

Worldlink Corporate wireless is actually almost brilliant except if you are very remote and thunderstorms cause outages. It’s very expensive but you get static IP and dedicated bandwidth. Youtube is actually usable at 512kbps and you can get up to 1mb if you can afford it (not cheap at all).

I have been in a great dilemma to select the ISP for broadband internet. So far I have been happy using UTL monthly package cuz its brilliant piece of thing, never gone down using 24/7, but the slow net is the fact that sucks. The poor service of Wlink may be the result of increased concentration of users in the respective location. SUBISU too is not a pure milk having faced criticism in the same blog. How would it be to give a try for the newer ISPs like websurfer ?
